QA testing for NIH Toolbox digital assessments and apps

overview
NIH Toolbox is a digital assessment platform supporting research workflows with cognitive, motor, sensory, and emotional health measures. Our QA work focused on validating mobile and web behavior, instrument logic, scoring flows, remote sessions, and reliable testing across device builds.

NIH Toolbox needed careful QA across complex assessment flows, devices, languages, and administration modes while staying clear for examiners and participants. The challenge was to verify instrument behavior, data accuracy, accessibility, remote workflows, and release readiness without slowing delivery or reducing confidence.
the Result
The QA effort improved release confidence across NIH Toolbox, making assessment flows clearer, defects easier to isolate, and mobile behavior more reliable for examiners, participants, research, and support teams.
